Skills Solutions is the largest work based training provider in Greater Manchester and manages the delivery of Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeship training programmes in conjunction with employers.

Skills Solutions recognises Heatcraft’s commitment to staff development and in particular its commitment to provide quality training to young people.

Skills Solutions has worked with Heatcraft since 2002 in providing Apprenticeship and Advance Apprenticeship opportunities in gas services to a number of young employees.

Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship training programmes are available to employees aged 16-22 in gas services and a large range of other sector trade areas.

The training programmes provide the opportunity for employees to undertake a nationally recognised Technical Certificate course (e.g. City and Guilds and BTEC courses) at a college of further education on a day release basis in addition to a National Vocational Qualification which is proof of a person’s ability to perform competently and effectively in the workplace.

Skills Solutions also delivers college based full time block courses offering young people the opportunity to acquire a Technical Certificate before entering employment. These young people are excellent candidates for employers to consider when recruiting apprentices.

There are no training programme charges to the employer for 16-18 year old employees undertaking Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship training programmes.
